A reviews widget puts your star rating and your latest reviews on your own website. You set it up once in ReviewComet, paste two lines of code on your site, and it keeps itself up to date as new reviews arrive.
Create a widget
- Open Widgets in the menu.
- Select New widget.
- Give it a name you will recognize later, such as the page it goes on.
- Pick a type:
- Badge: your rating and review count, small enough for a footer.
- Carousel: reviews in a row that scrolls.
- List: reviews in a column.
- Floating button: a button in a corner of the page that opens your reviews.
- Pick the locations it shows. A widget shows your own locations, or the locations of one client. It cannot mix the two.
- Select Create widget.
The preview at the bottom of the drawer runs the same code your website will run, so what you see there is what visitors see.

Choose what it shows
Under What it shows you decide which reviews appear:
- Lowest rating shown: for example 4 stars and up.
- Review sites: pick one or more sites, or none to show every site.
- Only reviews with written text: leaves out ratings with no words.
- Reviews shown: from 1 to 50, newest first.
Private feedback never appears in a widget. It was sent to you privately and stays that way.
What the stars count
The star rating and the review count on the widget always cover all of your reviews, from every site the widget's locations are connected to. Filters only change which reviews are listed, never the rating.
That also means hiding, archiving or deleting a review here does not change the stars. The rating reflects what customers wrote, not what you chose to show.
When a filter hides any reviews, the widget says so in a short line under the rating, for example "Showing reviews of 4 stars and above. The overall rating counts all reviews." This line cannot be turned off. Visitors deserve to know the list is a selection.
Style it
Under Style you can pick a light or dark theme, or Match the visitor to follow their device. Add an accent color as a code like #2563eb, and change the business name the widget shows. A floating button also has a position: bottom right or bottom left.
Changes to a saved widget are saved on their own a moment after you make them, and the drawer says so at the top. Websites that show the widget pick up the change within a few minutes.
Put it on your website
Once the widget exists, its Embed code section shows two lines of code.
The Embed code section of a widget, with the two lines of code and the Copy code button.
- Select Copy code.
- Paste the code into your website where the widget should appear. Most site builders have an "HTML" or "Embed" block for this.
- Publish the page.
The widget loads after the rest of your page, so it never slows down what your visitors see first. It uses no cookies.
Turn it off, replace its key or delete it
Open the widget and go to Manage:
- Show on websites: switch it off to hide the widget everywhere without losing its settings.
- New embed key: the current code stops working at once and you get a new one to paste. Use it if the code ended up somewhere it should not be.
- Delete widget: removes it from every website that shows it. This cannot be undone.
