Send a report

Emailing the finished report, saving it as a PDF, and exactly what the person who receives it can and cannot see.

Last updated October 14, 2026

There are 2 ways a report leaves the screen: as a PDF you keep, or as an email we send for you. Both send the document exactly as previewed.

What you need: a report you have finished setting up. Sections you switched off are not in the copy that goes out.

Save it as a PDF

Print or save as PDF opens your browser's print dialog against a print stylesheet built for this document, so page breaks land between sections rather than through a chart. Choose "Save as PDF" as the destination and you have a file to attach anywhere.

This is the route to use when the report is going somewhere we do not send mail: a shared drive, an existing monthly pack, or a message thread you already have with the client.

Email it

Email to client sends it to the client contact recorded on the location you are reporting on. On your own account the button reads Email me a copy and goes to the account owner's address.

Either way a notice appears naming the recipient and the brand the mail will be sent from, so you can check both before anything moves. Nothing goes out until the send actually runs, which means you can keep changing the period or the sections until then.

The email carries the report as a PDF, from your brand, with your accent color on the document. Where your own branding is set up, our name is not on the mail or the attachment.

Sending it on a schedule

There is no recurring send yet. A report goes out when somebody asks for it, so a monthly rhythm is a diary entry rather than a setting. If a client wants it on the first of every month, build it on the first and press send.

2 things make that less annoying than it sounds. The period control has a calendar month option, so you are not counting back days. And the screen opens with all 4 sections on every time, so the only work is switching off the ones this client never reads.

What the recipient can see

A client with access to their own location opens the report link and lands on the finished document, not on the builder. Their screen has 2 buttons: back to insights, and Print or save as PDF. There is nothing on it that lets them change the period, turn a section back on, or see the sections you left out.

What they get is:

  • the document, with your brand at the top and in the footer;
  • every section you switched on, and no sign that others exist;
  • the figures for their own sources and their own period.

What the recipient cannot see

  • Other locations. The numbers are scoped to the location the report was built in. A client who owns 4 sources never sees an agency's other accounts, whichever way the link is opened.
  • The setup rail. Period, sources and sections are the sender's decisions.
  • Our name, wherever your branding is in force. The document, the mail and the sending address all carry yours.
  • Anything from Insights that is not in the report. The team table, the rate budget card and the CSV exports stay on the Insights screen.

If a client cannot open the link at all, the report is a separate line item in the plan they were sold. Add it to their plan and the button appears for them.
