A client cannot sign in until somebody invites them. Inviting is the same call whether you are onboarding a brand new client or handing a login to a second person on one you already run, and it never touches automation, replies or billing, which carry on however you left them.
What you need: an address on the client's side, and a location, existing or brand new.
Where an invite starts
3 screens send the same invite.
- Open the client's row on Clients for the manage drawer, and use the zone under Invite this client.
- On the create client dialog, add an email as you name the location. 1 call provisions the location and sends the invite together, so the button reads Add client and send invite instead of Add client.
- Finish the agency setup wizard. Its last step offers Invite your first client, which opens the drawer's invite zone against the location made in the step before.

What they pay
Under What they pay, pick one of your retail plans, On the house, you cover the credits, or Keep current plan. On the house is a real plan priced at zero: the client is not charged, and their credits come out of the credit pool you already bought, the same as any other client on your account. Keep current plan is the safe default for a client who already has a login and already pays you. It names no plan at all, so nothing about their billing moves.
Provisioning a brand new location from the create dialog works a little differently: there you pick one of your plans, or leave it on Custom, priced by hand and type a monthly price yourself. Send the invite with no plan chosen at all and the location still gets one, either the price you typed or on the house if you typed nothing.
A client who already pays you through Stripe cannot be moved onto another plan by an invite. The picker locks to Keep current plan and a notice tells you to change their plan from billing instead.
What the client gets
An email under your branding with a link to set a password. They land on their own locations once they sign in, and nothing about the client changes until they accept: no plan switches, no credits move, until that link is used.
Held, and what to do about it
Press Invite client and the zone answers in place. A send that goes through says so and states how long the link is good for. 2 things can hold it instead:
- Your domain is not verified yet. The invite link has to carry your own domain, and it has not finished verifying. Fix it from the notice's Open branding link, then send it again.
- The address already belongs to someone else's account. Invite that person on an address of their own.
A held invite notice with its reason and the Open branding link.
A held invite still made the account. Nothing is wrong with the client, only with the mail, and Resend on their row tries again once you have cleared the reason. A person who has not opened the link yet always shows as Invited, and one who has signed in shows Active.
What this costs
Inviting, resending and switching a client's plan through the invite are all free. Only automated work against the location spends credits once the client is using it.
